Russian Wedding Food | Sample Reception Menus

Planning the wedding reception can get stressful. There are a lot of decisions to be taken, and the food is one of the most important. But before planning the exact menu, decide how you want the food to be served.

Can you imagine silver formal dinner party, or a little more interactive, family-style meal? Do you prefer the buffet stations or food? What informal cocktail?

There is no right or wrong here. People sometimes ask if a dinner buffet is tacky for a wedding. It is a matter of bad taste or not. Everything depends on the style and overall theme of your event. If you are planning a formal wedding, a buffet style meal might seem out of place. On the other hand, if you are having a fun casual party at a nightclub, a cocktail can be your best option. For a Greek or Russian traditional wedding, a family-style dinner usually works better.

Sitdown

With a formal dinner, your guests feel at assigned tables and the food is served to them by the wait staff. This is considered more formal than any other service. It looks elegant and stylish and invited to eat the dish the way it was designed to be eaten with the right amount of sauce and side right elements. Another great advantage of a formal dinner is that it gives you more control over the timing of receipt. You can schedule the exact time for each element of your wedding reception (champagne toast, first dance, etc.).
